My Story

What we believe about ourselves drives what we do and how we interact with others. God creates each of us with unique characteristics and specific purposes. Who we are created to be is not random or accidental – it’s purposeful! And that God-given identity is important, because it tells the world – and us – who we are! Everyone has a story, and life events – whether good or bad also impact how we see ourselves.

Most lives include a mix of positive or painful, happy, or sad, increase or loss. The things that happen in our lives mix with our God-given identity and become woven into a tapestry that embodies what the world sees and what we believe about ourselves. However, if the experiences we have are painful, it can dramatically change what we believe about ourselves. Difficult pasts can stop us from experiencing meaningful, connected, and vital lives. If that’s your experience it can seem hopeless.

But, there’s good news! We do not have to remain captive in that brokenness! No matter what we see when we look back over our shoulders… The past does not determine our future or our identity.

My Passion

As an author, speaker, and mentor I meet people every day who are struggling with life. Many are missing out on their God-given purpose because they are stuck in mindsets develeped out of difficult pasts. It’s heartbreaking, but I understand the struggle.

For a very long time, I also lived a difficult and chaotic life because of my past, and the experiences I had growing up defined me for a very long time. However, after years of struggling from a painful history of sexual, verbal, and physical abuse, I found healing through faith. God’s redeeming love altered how I saw myself, and changed the ashes of my past into the beautiful life I now live. My faith journey not only dramatically changed my own life, it’s become my passion and purpose.

My story of transformation is amazing, and I am blessed to share it whenever I can. Today I encourage others to seek God healing in their own lives. I use the insights gained through my restoration journey to help others recognize and pursue their God-given purpose and identity. My story has helped many find freedom from past difficulties. The journey to restoration of identity and hope is the foundation for my ministry.

The message I share is appropriate for adults and youth alike. It’s a presentation that weaves honest self-assessment, relatable humor, and strong Christian faith to inspire others to seek freedom from their pasts.

Let’s connect. I’d love to speak at your church, small group, or event.
